LabGuy's World:
Vintage B/W Video Cameras
New! 00.12.15
1970: Panasonic WV-8080 - Early Vidicon
Portapack Camera.
.
This camera is the mate
to the Panasonic NV-3080 EIAJ record only portapack VTR. (See the
NV-3080 on the EIAJ portapack page) This camera has a 2/3" vidicon tube
and a 1-1/2" CRT viewfinder. I don't know if it would support playback
in the viewfinder, like most portapack cameras, since this one works a
record only VTR. The lens is the common 6:1 (12.5 - 75mm) zoom lens. Medium
light at about 7 pounds, makes it as easy to carry as the Sony AVC-3400.
The pistol grip is easily removed for convenient tripod mounting as shown
in the photos. Shown here with the cable removed and with the microphone
missing (note the mic mount on top).
