This is rumored to be a pre-production prototype unit that never went to market. It's easy to see why: The P8-C1 is RECORD ONLY! Even for 1984, this is unusual. Actually, the P8-C1 can playback when it is inserted into its docking station. The docking station has a place for charging two batteries, but no television receiver. According to the manual, a TV receiver was available as an option. The camcorder has a "through the lens" optical viewfinder and a 6:1 zoom range. Unit is untested at this time.
