LabGuy's World: 1974 Sanyo VC-500
Portapack Vidicon Camera
New! 02.09.12: 1974 Sanyo VC-500 Portapack Vidicon Camera This is the mate to the Sanyo VC-7100 V-Cord I portapack VCR from around 1974. It has built in 1-1/2" electronic viewfinder. The lens is the standard 12.5 mm to 75 mm, f1.6, zoom made by Tamron. The pick up tube is a 2/3" vidicon. This camera had an automatic light control (ALC) circuit. A convenient high quality electret microphone is built right in to the front of the camera, just above the lens. Tape could be played back on the VCR and watched on the viewfinder. For ease of viewing the camera handle has two fold down legs to facilitate resting the whole camera on a table top as shown in the last two photos. There is also a jack for an external remote start/stop control as well. Could there be a VTC-7100 in LabGuy's future? Only time will tell. Stay tuned!
